Ian
Holm has had a long and illustrious career and the English can be proud of one
of their finest actors. Born in 1931, Ian Holm attended the Chigwell Grammar
school in Chigwell. After joining the Royal Acadamy of Dramatic Arts in 1950,
Ian then went on to do Natioanal Service between 1953 and 1954. After joining
the Royal Shakespeare Company in the mid 50's he made his first broadway debut
in 1967 and won his first BAFTA in 1968. Since then he has stared alongside many
famous actors and actresses including Sigourney Weaver and Bruce Willis. He has
married three times, has five children and was knighted in June 1998.
